Few days after we attended the B Culinary Soiree of Prime Cafe in B Hotel, we were back again to have a sit down food tasting care of Zomato. We already sampled some of their dishes during the said launching but this time we got to experience them one by one.
Prime Cafe is situated at the ground floor of B Hotel in Alabang. It has limited seating capacity which I think can only accommodate 50 pax. I love the comfy chairs, the classic interior and the natural lighting that comes from the big windows.
Below are the dishes that we sampled that day:
Roasted Pumpkin Soup (P150)
Rich and velvety soup to start-up a meal. I almost mopped up every last bit of this creamy pumpkin soup served with freshly baked garlic bread.
Prime Rib Eye (P1,100)
Lightly seasoned and cooked in medium rare that’s exactly how I wanted my steak to be. Prime Cafe’s Rib Eye will satisfy the carnivorous in you. The mashed potato on side was smooth and silky. The mushroom gravy is a nice add-on to the steak.
Chicken Inasal (P250)
Chicken thigh fillet inasal meal marinated and grilled in lava rock.
Pork Sisig (P220)
It looked ordinary to me, as the sisig came out in the usual sizzling plate. Despite that I had it when it was already cold I was amazed that it’s still crunchy. It also has a nice distribution of mayo which did not gave me a “umay” taste after.
Beef Salpicao (P480)
The beef is tender and juicy but I was looking for a Beef Salpicao with buttery-garlicky flavor. I suggest to have it with rice or else it will taste salty on its own.
Crispy Pork Belly (P290)
Well seasoned slices of meat, fork tender on the inside but sadly the skin is already “makunat”. Served with a liver sauce, vinegar and a cup of fried rice. Though, I wouldn’t mind giving in a second shot!
Gyudon Donburi (P350)
You can’t question the quality of the beef that they used for this bowl, tender, juicy and each piece has almost the same thickness. One thing that stopped me from finishing Prime Cafe’s Gyudon is that I find it too sweet for me.
The pork has the right amount of fat, I’d be a little happier if the breading has some nice crunch on it but nevertheless I love the balance of flavors in this bowl.
Seafood Gambrero Tagliatelle (P300)
Pasta cooked to perfection in a marinara style sauce. This flavor-packed dish gets an extra boost from the shrimps and mussels.
Belgian Chocolate Cake (P150/mini; P1,200/whole)
I’m not a fan of an overly loaded chocolate cake but the Prime Cafe’s Belgian Chocolate changed my mind. From the mountain of bittersweet chocolate curls on top, silky smooth chocolate icing and moist cake, this dessert is unforgettable!
Prime Cafe also serves Buffet Lunch every Friday from 12:00 Noon-2:00 PM for only P650.
