Hubby and I went all the way to Baler, Aurora as we got invited to join the “Free the Sea Movement 2” hosted by Reef Philippines, a surf and lifestyle brand known worldwide. We’re lucky to be part of this campaign in promoting responsible travel and environmental conservation in partnership with WWF Philippines which happened last September 29 to October 01, 2017.
The beach is our go to place whenever we want to escape our busy life. Here, we find comfort and peace. Who wouldn’t love to lay along the shores, play with the sand, catch the waves and wait for the sunrise or sunset. For me, it is he most romantic place on earth.
We can’t escape the sad reality that we people tend to neglect our responsibilities in keeping it clean. During our coastal clean up we strolled the shores of Sabang Beach to pick up all the trashes that were left behind from plastic wrappers, bottles and even cigarette butts – the most collected item!
The main aim of Reef’s campaign is to preserve the beauty of Sabang Beach, we must all work together in maintaining our beaches so we can continue to enjoy them for years to come.
Even though the coastal clean up only lasted for an hour, I am happy that somehow I was able to save the sea and marine animals in my own little way. Please do your share and be responsible enough!
Afterwards, we got to enjoy what Sabang Beach was famous for-Surfing! We were treated with a free surfing lessons by Nalu Beach Surf Camp. As a first timer, I was nervous that I can’t balance myself on the board but thanks to the encouraging words of my instructor, he even patiently assisted me all through out. It was not easy but I had so much fun that I find the one hour “bitin” haha! I guess I should plan another trip to Baler!
After dinner, we were treated to a laid-back beachside chill night music from Anne Clerigo and soulful music of Banna Harbera, plus an open mic show which included the turnover of Reef’s donation to WWF, amounting to P30,000 which would go towards WWF’s environmental programs.
Baler Aurora is not only a surfer’s paradise, a few minutes walk and P12.00 tricycle fare led us to these beautiful tourist spots hihi!
Museo de Baler, it houses the province’s memorabilia which showcases Baler’s history and culture .(P30.00 entrance fee/open dailly 8:00AM-5:00PM)
Baler Church, the known site for the Siege of Baler. Don’t forget to say your prayer.
Few steps away from the church is the of Aurora Quezon’s Ancestral House.
Trying to be brave at Baler’s Hanging Bridge over Tibag-Sabang River.
It was an awesome weekend at Baler, Aurora. Thank you Reef and ComCo SouthEast Asia.
