Out of our #PrigiEats adventure (thanks to Zomato), I’m slowly enjoying the foodie spots in Marikina. We recently went to Tolits KTV Restobar and Events Place along Nangka to have our lunch. Coming from South, surely it’s far enough but trying out different restaurants beyond our hometown is somehow interesting. Tolits is the kind of restaurant that pay tributes to their own delicacies (Marikina’s pride) by including it in their menu.
Tolits is situated at the 2nd floor of Citi Center Building (Puregold is the nearest landmark). The place is quite empty by day time, usually customers flock here in the late afternoon to sing their heart out at the KTV area. They also have live bands from time to time, the place is spacious enough to accommodate big crowds for any parties or events.
Tolits interior were modern enough it can adjust to any age group. Whether you want to dine with your family or hang with your barkada they have group meal packages that can fit your budget.
Below are some of the dishes that you can order at Tolits Marikina:
Tolits Chef Special Salad (P180.00), I find this salad ordinary as it is loaded with carrots but nonetheless it’s a refreshing way to awaken your taste buds.
Lunch is incomplete with having a rice, you will feel sorry after getting the Binagoongang Platter (P220.00). Why? You can’t stop digging on this carbs because it was too flavorful. It can even stand on its own without any viands.
Everlasting (P310.00) is the Marikina style of meatloaf, it has the same ingredients of an embutido topped with slices of egg. The garnish on the plate can be eaten along with the everlasting. I find this dish pleasurable to eat.
Crispy Tilapia (P290.00) lightly-seasoned tilapia that was pan-fried to perfection. You can never go wrong by having it with calamansi and soy sauce plus a plain cup of rice please!
My top pick among the dishes that we had that day at Tolits is the Bulalo Steak (P300.00), the soft, rich flesh lodged inside the bone is complemented well by the creamy and garlicky gravy sauce. It was sinfully good!
An interesting take on a traditional sinigang, Pork Sinigang sa Pakwan (P320.00) has a refreshing hint of sweetness that comes from the yellow watermelon. Well-cooked meat and the soup creates a nice and comforting taste.
Beef Sinigang sa Bayabas (P300.00), beef needs more time in the kitchen as some part are hard to chew. The guava fruit makes this beef dish rich and tasty.
Crispy Pata Kare-Kare (P350.00), anostlagic comfort food for every Filipino. This is one is the deconstructive type of kare kare, crispy pata are paired with blanched veggies, then you have to drizzle it with the peanut sauce and bagoong.
Turon ala Mode (P150.00), crunchy turon resting under blanket of a big scoop of ice cream. The chocolate syrup was not too sweet.
