Meatslut is located at the neighborhood of Lilac Street in Marikina, this red and black colored restaurant is a place where you can indulge your intense desire for animal flesh. With its mission to influence and educate their patrons on what’s the best way to purely enjoy their steak.
The place is a little bit dark but with a cosy vibe. They have VIP room that can be rented out which also has a billiard table just perfect enough for small private function.
As you entered Meatslut, you will be greeted by this EAT ME sign and how to order guide.
I was hesitant to try the Cured Beef with Pickled Celery (P220.00) because I find it looking weird. I had small bite for the sake of trying it, well it was tender and has the smoky taste. Sausage Coil (P320.00), purely made from scratch and cured it its own fats. This is quite heavy and flavorful that’s why we immediately ordered for beer that can go with it. You may request to have it sliced in bite-sized pieces.
Chilawin (P230.00) for this kinilaw, Tanigue was torched to released a distinct flavor. It was served in a resealable glass container with a smoky effect once you open the lid. Shrimp, Sausage and Corn (P250.00) is also a perfect beer-match for long chitchat nights with your barkada.
Melting Salmon (P550.00) was literally melt in your mouth dish. The idea of crispy salmon skin bits on top gives that little crunch.
The main attraction in Meatslut is how they prepare your food. Steaks are cooked in sous-vide method in which meat are vacuum-sealed bags and then placed in water bath with the temperature of 54◦C which is the required temperature for a perfectly tender meat. Steak choices are:
- The 54◦ Rib Eye (P800.00)
- The 54◦ Rib Short Plate (P450.00)
- The 72 Hours Rib Short Plate (P380.00)
Each order may either comes with rice, umami corn, robuchon mashed potato or french beans.
We sampled their 72 Hours Rib Short Plate (P380.00), I enjoyed watching my steaks being prepared right in front of my eyes. I even have it in Boomerang app haha! Next time, I’ll take note to inform the waiter to do not add any balsamic on my steak as I find it a little bit sour, salt and pepper will already do its magic.
Potato Dauphinos (P150.00) delicious and warming, it can goes well with any choices of steak. I find this dish comforting as it was also raining that night.
End your steak night with a sweet note from Meatslut Sizzling Brownies (P180.00).
