After our morning errand, we went straight to St. Nicholas Catering and Restaurant to have our lunch. Going to the resto is easy, we rode a jeepney from Boni to Mandaluyong City Hall from there we just walked for few minutes and found this kinda “hidden” resto. At first, we didn’t noticed it because they only have a small signage in front.
Going inside, we were greeted by colorful leis and lanterns hanged on the ceilings. According to the owner (Mr. Nick Pelaez), this was an old family house converted into a restaurant. The place is spacious that they can handle events or any gatherings.
My favorite spot inside St. Nicholas was the antique vase collections over the Cherry Blossom inspired wall. I’ve never seen beautiful vases in various sizes before.
The interior is a mixture of everything from an intimate dining set up to Al fresco. While waiting for our food, I can’t stop feasting my eyes on every displays that they have. It was a month before Christmas, so we we’re lucky enough to see the inflatable moving Santa displays as well the giant teddy bear. I’ll swear this is the biggest teddy bear that I’ve seen in my life. I doubt if this will be on display for the whole year. I hope yes!
Now, enough of the venue, Let’s talk about the FOOD! I almost had my allergy attack literally due to too much consumption of Hot n Juicy Shrimps (P399.00). One bag is equivalent to a half kilo of shrimps available in the following flavors: regular, spicy, mild, sweet, and medium. Guaranteed they only serve fresh and juicy shrimps that comes all the way from Roxas City, known as the seafood capital of the Philippines. I was trying to avoid rice that time but I can’t help it, the sauce was to good with rice. You can’t blame me hihi!
By the way, I’ll give you a sulit tip (wink!): Visit them every Wednesday for the Shrimp Wednesday promo and get 50% discount on every order of Hot n Juicy Shrimps!
Aside from the ala-carte menu, St. Nicholas Catering & Restaurant also serve meals that are good enough for 4-6 people. Talking about food trip with your family or friends? We also had Boodle Fight sa Bilao #1 Davao (picture shown above), they have the best eggplant tempura, crispy and melt-in-your-mouth eggplant without being too greasy.
Go and check out their Boodle Fight sa Bilao choices:

To capped off our meals, we ordered two best seller desserts. Choco Lava ala Mode (P199.00), vanilla ice cream paired with warm and gooey choco mini cake feels like heaven in my mouth. Even though it has been a classic combination for dessert you can’t go wrong with it.
I got hooked with Temptation By Tablea (P179.00), the cake was super moist. The chocolate taste was just right for me, not too sweet. This is the type of cake that I can’t eat over and over again.
Commuting all the way from South is already a big challenge but when you had these food for lunch it’s all worth it. I’m glad it’s another food discovery for us! Yipee!
