Sibyullee Flavors of Seoul at Ayala Malls The 30th

We tried  Sibyullee pronounced Shib-Yool-Lee located at the ground floor of Ayala Malls The 30th in Pasig City three weeks after it opened to the public. A new Korean experience by the Happyfoods Group of Restaurants which is the same makers of Sariwon Korean Barbecue and Soban K-Town Grill.

Sibyullee

Sibyullee was inspired by the vibrant street food in Myeongdon and the innovative BBQ scene in Itaewon. The interior was refreshing to the eyes, not the usual Korean restaurant that I have been to.

We had the Signature BBQ Combo Set 2 (P2,000.00) that’s good for three to four people which includes  the following:

  • 200g Fresh USDA Choice Beef Belly
  • 200g Pork Belly (choice of fresh or marinated)
  • 1 Pajeon
  • 1 Dakgogi Cheese BBQ
  • 1 Volcano Kimchi Fried Rice
  • 2 White Rice
  • 4 soup
  • Unlimited side dishes

Sibyullee

Every combo set comes with 6  different Banchan (side dishes): Kimchi- Korea’s national dish, Mu Ssam – pickled radish, Oi Bokkeum – stir-fried cucumber, Sigeumchi Namul -seasoned spinach, Meoichi Bokkeum – roasted peanuts with anchovies and Makalonisaelleodeu – macaroni potato salad. These are all refillable upon your request. We had two kinds of meat belly the beef (Woo Samgyup ) and pork (Samgyupsal)  for our BBQ set. Sibyullee has a self-service grilled station in each table. You get to enjoy the experience of grilling your own meat. Don’t worry there’s a Grill-It-Yourself-Guide-for-Table-Grill that you can follow or you can always seek help from their waiters.

You can eat the cooked meat directly or either have it the Sibyullee way by wrapping  the grilled meat, garlic and their homemade samjang sauce in a piece of lettuce.

Next in line is the Haemul Pajeon 해물파전  one of their signature dishes. It’s like a pizza stuffed with squid, mussels, shrimp and green onions. I find it greasy especially when it’s cold already so better consumed it fast.

Experience the Korean Cheese BBQ at Sibyullee. Satisfy your barbecue and cheesy cravings with the Dakgogi Cheese BBQ.  Once the mozarella cheese had melted dig in your Dakgogi (chicken) though it needs a bit of seasoning, it’s pleasurable to eat. It also comes with fresh vegetables, thin slices of potato, egg omelette and buttered corn.

Sibyullee

Aside from the serving of two cups of plain rice, the set comes with a Volcano Kimchi Fried Rice. The presentation was a bit scene-stealer, the kimchi rice was swimming in melted cheese. Once you’re ready to have this dish, the waiter will cook it right before your eyes. Tell the waiter to don’t overcooked it because the cheese tends to become dry after. A little spicy kick on kimchi would also be nice.

Sibyullee

I had Lychee Shake (P105.00)as my drink. Whenever I ordered shakes in any restaurant I usually requested for lesser syrup and milk, I’m happy that my shake tasted like a pure lychee.

Sibyullee

I got the cutie  Bungeoppang (P99.00) for dessert. It’s like a waffle shaped into a goldfish topped with ice cream (available  in Vanilla, Coffee or Cookies & Cream). This dessert takes time to prepare as they made it on the spot so better be patient (wink!).

Weekday Solo  Lunch Menu is also available at  Sibyullee from Mondday to Friday (11:00AM-4:00PM). Served with 2 single-served side dishes, soup and a glass of iced tea.

  • Maewoon Dak Kangjung Deopbap (P155.00) sticky savoury Korean fried chicken poppers rice bowl
  • Beef Bap (P185.00) snack-size 50g beef mixed with assorted vegetables and fried egg in a sizzling bowl
  • Spicy Pork Bap (P185.00) snack-size 50g spicy pork mixed with assorted vegetables and fried egg in a sizzling bowl
