Toast Asian Kitchen & Tasting Room

Our appreciation for food has brought us all the way to Ayala Mall The 30th in Pasig City to personally experience the dishes of Toast Asian Kitchen and Tasting Room which is just located in the ground of the said establishment. From the name itself, they serve Asian cuisines with a modern twist, why tasting room? They have a small area inside the restaurant that’s  only reserved for liquors and craft beers. It felt so romantic even though we were there by noon time hihi!

Any mall-goers will easily notice this restaurant as it has an alfresco dining area. I was mesmerized as I entered Toast Asia Kitchen it has this classy rustic interior, it was like I am dining in an old-spanish restaurant with antique looking tables and chairs with  dim lighting that comes from the candelabra.

It was pretty hot that day  and I’m depriving myself  from soda (for a year huhu!) so I ordered the Fresh Orange Juice (P215.00) which I’m glad I did. It was really freshly squeezed orange with no sugar or any ice on it. I just asked for an extra glass with ice to make it cold and by the way it’s so refreshing. As I’ve said we went all the way here to sampled their food so here it goes. (scroll…scroll…)

We started our Toast Asian Kitchen’s #PrigiEats adventure with the Toast Salad (P188.00), a very basic for salad with shredded green mango and chopped cilantro with crispy vermicelli noodles on top. The Peanut shrimp paste vinaigrette was something new for me, it has an interesting taste but it was too thick that it can’t evenly coat my salad.

SMALL PLATES

One serving of Thai Basil Poppers (P228.00) is not enough for sharing, why? Because you wouldn’t want to share haha!, these bite-size chicken pieces deep-fried and tossed in nuac mam sauce and fresh basil were insanely delicious! This dish will have you licking your fingers after.

Quesong Puti Croquettas (P299.00), the kesong puti didn’t stand out because it was mixed with the mashed potato. The croquettas itself was deep-fried to perfection. The tomato laksa dipping sauce was good.

A very appetizing Tom Yum Meatballs (P249.00), this time not in a soup, pork meat balls  seasoned with tom yum spices that has an equal balance of  spicy-salty taste smothered with melted cheesy goodness.

YAKITORI

We tried three kinds of yakitori that day. The Wagyu Cubes (P175.00) is irresistible, bursting with flavors in every bite.  The crowd’s favorite!. Pork Belly (P65.00) seems to be plain and dry but it proved me all wrong, the pork was grilled perfectly. Sadly some  Shrimp (P165.00) was overcooked  but I ate it all anyway  because the sauce (basted in soy sauce or teriyaki sauce)  were addicting.

MAINS

Toast Asian Kitchen

Seared Salmon Linguini (P449.00), al dente linguini with a slab of  salmon. It was tossed in nori cream sauce but the flavor did not stand out for me I think it needs more seasoning to compliment the precious fish.

Toast Asian Kitchen

Twice Cooked Pork with Salted Egg Fried Rice (P475.00) is  definitely Toast Asia Kitchen’s best seller dish! We were amazed with the combination of flavors, the pork belly  just melts in your mouth and oh the salted egg fried rice  worked its magic on this dish. Hay now, I’m craving!

Make sure to mix the Blaksa (P355.00) well  as the spices tends to settle at the bottom. Singaporean’s famous  laksa dish with drops of squid ink  that  blends well with the delicious coconut broth making the dish richer in flavor.

Simple yet belly-filling, the Sous Vide Hainanese Chicken with Rice (P459.00), the bones had been removed, the meat was tender, moist and juicy, also comes with a bowl of hainanese rice. The sauce highlighted the flavor of the chicken well.

Wagyu Cubes with Chinese Broccoli (P665.00), wagyu is wagyu I’m sure anyone will be satisfied with this dish. The teriyaki sauce made  the famous meat flavorful.

DESSERTS

Toast Asian Kitchen

We had the Tapioca and Mango Trifle (P108.00) for dessert. Tapioca layered with ripe mango and broas, very light yet sweet. I love it!

Toast Asian Kitchen

Any chocolate lover will enjoy the Dark Chocolate Mousse (P128.00) batangas tablea chocolate mousse with cream and chocnut powder. All you need is your spoon and it will be gone in few minutes haha!Hubby’s favorite! So far we enjoyed Toast Asian Kitchen dishes, ambiance and even the service.!:)
