Yorka: Our Neighborhood Snack Bar

image

How do you usually spend your off from work?

I know there are many things that we can do and one day is not even enough right? For us this is the best time to bond over food! Yay!? It’s one thing that we both love to do together hehe! Hubby and I kept noticing this snack bar named YORKA located on the second floor of a building, just few blocks away from home. Out of our curiousity we gave it a try. Honestly? I’m glad we did!☺️

Why?

I listed it all below for you. wink!?

The Ambiance

It maybe smaller than your typical tambayan or chillax place but I found it so cute, especially the hand painted walls. I might be a little biased here because I love coffee, books and arts. I guess the power of colorful “post it” still has it charm, reading the notes one by one gave a smile on my face, some are quotes, pick up and hugot lines. I noticed it was mostly written by some teenagers. By the way Yorka is located near school (Harrell Horne Integrated Schools) and hospital (Prime Global Medical Center). Don’t worry if you’re a social media addict they have wifi too!

The Food

I think the saying “don’t judge the book by its cover” will literally apply to this snack bar. They may not have an appealing facade but their food was worthy to visit.

Look at those plating!!?

image

Yorka Club (Php 80.00). It consists of four loaves of bread filled with chicken, ham, egg, lettuce, and tomato. There’s something magical with their dressing (super sarap!) that made this sandwich a hit. The fries was kinda “bitin” so I suggest better get an extra.

image

Chik Chik Alfredo (Php 138.00).The noodles are cooked right smothered on a creamy sauce  with big chunks of chicken paired with half slice of bread. Eventhough it’s so creamy it will not give you an “umay” taste after.

Big chunks of chicken wings covered in  bbq and chili sauce or also known as Flywings (Php 90.00). I like the way it get so gooey and sticky, finger lickin good! Sad!? They don’t serve rice, but it  will really goes well with your pasta.

You can be creative in their D.Y.I Frappe. Pick the flavor of your frappe and choose over kitkat, milo, choco chip cookies, oreos, wafer, choco cereals and many more for the toppings (Php 5.00-Php 7.00). Hubby had his  Chocolate Frappe (Php 90.00) while I got Mocha Frappe (Php 95.00) for myself. I love their frappe because you can actually taste the flavor not just a drink with too much sugar on it.

By the way  you can borrow some  books and game boards while munching on your snacks.

For finale? Let’s have some desserts!?

Tada! Presenting the Pudding Ala Mode (Php 70.00), it doesn’t only look good but I’m sure it will satisfy your sweeth tooth. Homemade breadpudding with a generous scoop of ice cream that’s slowly melting  (screamsss!?) garnished with pretzel. Hubby got hooked and  even forgot to save some for me!?

You can even have unlimited coffee for free when you order a piece of Cupcake (Php 45.00-Php 55.00). They accept bulk order too, perfect for your parties.

The Staff/Owner

Meet Yona (right) and Erika (left), these two lovely ladies will welcome you with a big smile on their faces. Because of their passion for cooking and strong friendship YORKA was built. They maybe young at age but  I can guarantee they will please your tastebuds! I heard they will keep on adding new dishes from time to time. Soo exciting!?

Now, I have to blame myself!?

I’m sure we will keep coming back to Yorka.??
